FALL 2026 AUDITIONS
Interested in Joining?
The University of Maryland’s a cappella groups are holding auditions at Jimenez Hall on Tuesday, September 15th and Thursday, September 17th.
A showcase of all the a cappella groups who are holding auditions will take place at 7pm in Jimenez. Afterward, groups will split into their own rooms for auditions. The generics will be in room 0103. All you need to prepare is an unaccompanied verse and chorus of a song of your choice (no musical theater). Don’t overthink it, sing something you are comfortable with! Beatboxers prepare a 30-second to a minute beat that showcases what you can do!

Can I audition for multiple groups?
Yes! You can audition for as little or as many groups as you want! Don’t worry about callback scheduling, the groups will figure it out.
Do we need to attend both audition dates?
You should only audition once, either on Tuesday or Thursday! Feel free to watch the showcase twice if you’d like.
What should I bring?
A water bottle, snacks, and homework - it could be a long night!
If I’m a beatboxer, will I still need to sing in my audition?
Because we are a vocal group, we would like for you to sing something in your audition (even ‘happy birthday’ would suffice)!
What vocal parts are you looking for?
Every and all parts! Bass, Baritone, Tenor 2, Tenor 1. No worries if you don’t know your voice part, come anyway!
How many guys do you take each semester?
We, the gs, don’t believe in quotas! Even if there’s a long list of auditionees, don’t be discouraged, we would love to meet you!
